Throttle Lock up?

I was driving on the freeway last night in crusie control at 60 mph or so, and all of a sudden the message center read "redueced engine power" and when i mashed the pedal the was nothing. so i pulled over and checked out things that i could with no tools. the motor and everything was fine and it went into gear also, but not throttle at all! So i limped it home and once there i took of the air intake and checked out the TB.. when the truck was off i could push the flap open and it would spring close...but when i started it and tried to push on it i was like it was locked up? Well eventually i got it to break free and when i pushed the TB open the electronics and eveything seemed to work fine (TB sensor tell the injectors to pump more fuel for the large air mass)...but still not pedal! So last thing i could think of was disconnected the battery to reset everything! Boom it worked! pedal worked again! So my theory is, and chime in with any ideas, cuz i drive this truck a lot! I mean a lot it has 180,000+ with everything orgional so im thinking that the TB is starting to breakdown and i might need to replace it soon. THOUGHTS? IDEAS?

Thank you

Todd

BTW the truck is a 2004 GMC 2500 crew cab - 6.0L 4x4

Sounds more like a Throttle Position Sensor to me

cool i will take a look at it afterwork...i assume the electronic TB sensor is in the same location as the cable TB? I know there isnt much difference, but have to ask..

The DBW TB does not have a seperate TPS sensor....
Your not supposed to be able to open the throttle while its running..its electronic and has a motor to hold it closed/open.
Have the truck scanned for code before "freeing" anything else up... :)
