Default throttle body

Im looking to upgrade my stock 04 5.3 tb, but the only i can find is a 80mm bbk, is this tb worth the money or is there a 90mm tb that will work with my electronic throttle?

I got an ls3 90mm tb on ebay for around $200 and bought the x-link to control it for $225 shipped.

Looking at the mod in your sig, I don't think you'll see much of a difference. That's just my opinion though. I haven't spent too much time with N/A trucks, but I have made almost 800 rwhp using the stock throttle body on my 06 and ran mid 10's. It was beeing force air though.

My guess is that it would take a very well prepped N/A motor with lots of cam, big heads, compression revving to 6800+rpm to justify a 90mm. The TB/Harness setup as mentioned above will run you close to $450, but then you have to add in the cost of the intake. I don't know what these 90mm intakes are selling for these days however I could see a total $1000 investment to get you going with the right parts.
