Yea I hear ya. The most famous one to break is the driver's side closest to the firewall so be real careful. My front one on the driver's side was broken before I ever started lol. But when I swapped heads they're all there.

do headers usually come with new bolts or do the stock ones get reused? my tahoe is a 2000 and i was surprised to see that all the bolt heads are still there

Yea my truck is an 01.

As well known as the bolts are for breaking off, I wouldn't recommend reusing the stock ones although technically it can be done if they are still intact. I used ARP header bolts. They are like $40 iirc

I soaked my bolts for about a week with PB Blaster while the engine was hot. I sprayed them and drove it some more and resprayed. I used an air ratchet with low air pressure to brake loose the bolts. I didn't have any trouble with any breaking. The driver rear bolt was a pain to take out and put back in. I used stage 8s.
