turn counterclockwise.

Shove a shower towel in around the waterpump pulley area so it locks it up, and then put a pipe wrench on the clutch fan bolt and smack it several times with a mallet. Works for me.

It has normal threads, just remove it like any other bolt/nut. Lots of people will tell you they are reverse thread, but they aren't. Everybody here is right on. I usually leave the belt on and it is enough to hold the pulley. Put a wrench on it and give it a whack with the hammer or use the air hammer.

hawww ****. lol. so i was leaving to go buy some parts for the truck at autozone. I left my brother here and figured what the hell i'll tell him what to do since he knows about cars a little and what not. well i get back and it turns out he took the air hammer/chisel to the fan. NO PROBLEM, but he was hitting it clockwise. so now this fan is REALLY on there. it's been a PITA trying to get it off now.

He was just making sure it was tight before you took it off. Happens to the best mechanics. LOL

I am having the same problem on the H2. I even have the pulley holding tool and ended up breaking a pin off of it. Anybody ever tried heating the nut?
