Spark Plugs
I know they dont make much of a difference in performance, but its time for a new set and I figured Id see if anyone on here had any brand and type they preferred.
|
NGK's or ACDelco's are my recommendation. NGK's seem to get along pretty well with our motors and ACDelco's obviously do good.
|
If you go with the NGK's they only have a service life of about 40K miles compared to the 100K the ACDELCO's have. Ive had both and noticed no difference so went back to the ACDELCO Iridiums. Also no difference with the MSD wires either if you were thinking of going that route. Look on ebay if you need a new set of factory wires. You can get them pretty darn cheap and will even come with the factory heat shields.
|
ive always used NGK TR5 or TR6 with good luck.
If you dont want to have to fool with them again for awhile, go ahead and get the iridiums and be done with it. And dont forget the antiseize :D |
Delcos, FTW.
And for the love of Spongebob, please stay away from all gimmicky plugs. Those E3 pieces of crap are really great at causing detonation problems. The only thing they are 'born to burn' is the money in your wallet. Idiot friend bought some against my advice, and....:sigh: |
These are the plugs I put in my 5.3L LY5.
