Solid or hydrolic cams

I am going to be changing cams again soon, and have heard that they are offering a solid ls1 cam. What is the difference in the two. My dad had old school solid cams and said they are a pain in the ass with checking the springs all the time. Just wondering, I will be getting a stroker by the end of 04 and I want to get a bigger cam also.

Another question, has anyone got a new set of heads and how do you like the performance.

um stay hydrolic. i would not go solid unless you were just using the truck for a weekend fun toy. solid is expensive and well i dont know if it would benifet you in a truck very much cause of the weight. Even with a big motor cause we can run the same size cams as the cars but when they get into the big stuff it would prob hurt our performance. also i believe solid is normaly for highet rpms like above 6000.
