You might want to check this control module out. It is only $75. This is what I would run if I was in yalls situation it has a built in 2sec delay to stop the light dimming. Or maybe a combination of this and the current relay harness.

Ive had ls1 fans sitting because of the same situation. Seems that I keep coming back to the Delta Current Control. Looks clean and compact price not to bad.

After looking over the Wiring diagrams, basically what the problem is when AC kicks on the lights dim? Is that the problem you guys are having? If so it is because when the AC kicks on that take alot of AMPs to lock the as clutch. At the same time the Fans kick on that takes alot of AMPs. That is what is diming the lights. After each of these is active the amp draw is alot less. So the key is to delay either the AC clutch or Fan. Looking at the standard wiring diagram. As seen below.

Replace Relay #2 with a delay relay like this one.

This one only give a 1 second delay but that might be enough. I have seen some 3 sec delay relays, but I can't find them.

Makes sense but I don't think 1 second delay is enough. The 3 second I would try.

That was the only one I could find. I saw a 3 sec on earlier today, but i can't find it again.

Wow guys I'm impressed with the info you're finding. One concern I have with that DeLorean controller is that it only has a 15 amp fuse. I thought the GM fans pulled more current than that.

I finally found an adjustable delay relay.

DEI 528T

Specs:

The DEI 528T Pulse Timer Relay is an adjustable timer-controlled 30-amp SPDT relay (Single Pole Double Throw).

The timer is adjustable from 0 – 90 seconds.

You can activate the DEI 528T with either a (+) trigger input or with a (-) trigger input. The DEI 528T will provide a temporary circuit "connect or disconnect" and can be used in many applications.

The DEI 528T can provide either a (+) or a (-) temporary output.

The DEI 528T can temporarily disconnect either a (+) or a (-) circuit.

As you can see, the DEI 528T Pulse timer Relay provides complete flexibility whenever you need to temporarily either connect or disconnect any circuit (+ or -) with either a (+ or -) trigger input.

Here are just a few examples of the dozens of possible uses for the DEI 528T:

To perform the "wait-to-start" function for remote starting a diesel vehicle without attaching directly to the "wait-to-start" glow plug wire in the vehicle. (See below for connection diagram.)

Turn your parking lights (or headlights) on for up to 90 seconds when you arm/lock your vehicle to light the way to your house for visibility or safety.

Turn your parking lights (or headlights) on for up to 90 seconds with an auxiliary channel (such as channel 2 or channel 3) whenever you desire to light the way to or from your vehicle without having to arm or disarm it, to illuminate your yard or driveway for security reasons, find your car in a parking lot, etc.

Keep your radio on for up to 90 seconds when you turn your ignition key off.

The best part is they are only like $15....

OK here's what I plan to do, using the DEI relay. BlackGMC, can you look this over and see if you agree with how I have this wired?

This should put the adjustable delay in between the a/c compressor engaging and the relays in the fan harness closing.
