Default Soft Shifting

I have a 02 GMC sierra with a 5.3 Gison dual sport exhust and a air raid intake. The truck runs a 15.6 now but it seems to shift very soft and out of the power band. It is a short bed regular cab, so I feel it should run a little quicker. is there a programer that will improve this, or will manual shifting be more effective, if so what shift rpm should i try. Also what would be the best steps to get this truck in the 14's, thank you

I installed the transgo first. Resulted in hard shifts everytime. Frames shutter and all that fun stuff. Trouble was, torque management was even more noticable. Fuel is reduces during shift. I bought a Superchips programmer and now it kicks sideways into 2nd Superchips only allows for hi test gas on stock though. Not much for options really. Rev limiter raises passed my peek power. Only changes to drivetrain is K&N and 3" muffler. Stock Y-pipe and tail pipe.

try shifting it at the track and i can almots guarantee it will run faster. and once you get good at shifting it bump the revlimiter once on the shift. i run mine out to i guess 5800 rpms but you have to get the timing down and it will hit the rev limiter at the same time it shifts. it runs prety good but i will probably have tranny probs sooner than if i was not doing this.
just my .02$

edit: and i forgot i do have a hpplll and shift firm set.
