SI/DO vs DI/DO

I am planning to do longtube headers in the next coming months. I am trying to figure out what to do with my exhaust. Right now I have true duals, no crossovers, with some long 40" glasspacks. It sounds good but isn't really loud except over 3.5k. So when I get my headers is it best to run the y pipe to a SI/DO muffler or true duals to a DI/DO muffler? Would their be a difference in sound?

Check youtube for videos on the magnaflow with the built in X.

Yeah, I have been listening to different trucks. I like the magnaflows, but I think they are to quiet. I personally like the sound of straight pipes, but without cats I have to find a muffler. I was thinking of the flomaster 40 di/do or a dynomax di/do. I guess what I'm trying to ask is, would a true dual exhaust to a di/do flomaster 40, or a y to a si/so flomaster 40, what would be the difference in sound?

i had a dual in/out 3 inch spintech and it sounded powerful but was a lil too loud for me. i removed after 4 mos and i would like to sell it.
