shift kit and servo installed
 

hey guys just got my shift kit and servo installed and the one two shift is going to hurt i'm going to wait a couple of days to really give it to it but it snaps pretty good at part throttle and chirps a bit <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> had someone else do it but i think it was worth it cuz the time it would of taken me would of been probaly over 20 hours knowing how slow i go so it was the better choice. weeehawww <img border="0" alt="[Truck]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_truck.gif" />

so i guess that money you were saving didnt last long. how much did he charge. i have been thinking about just a servo for me. also can you really feel TM kick in with the shift kit.

let me know how that goes. i was considering doing one or the other or both. i'm too afraid of TQM right now (i have plans to get ls1edit anyway) and i'm sure yur gunna run into it at WOT.

also, does anyone think this is gunna put TOO much stress on the tranny to do both?

i wouldnt worry about the strenth of a stock trans, there weak and they suck ass. if it breaks, get one built that can take the abuse

is the servo + the shift kit gunna blow my stock trann to pieces?

if you have tranny ?'s Pm me and i will tell you that you will not hurt the stock tranny with you guys fag ass bolt ons....I sprayed mine with a trailer on it for company business and fuckin cracked a yugo....They will hold up just don't think anything you abuse will not eventually break....Thank you drive through.... <img border="0" alt="[Truck]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_truck.gif" />

It was 225 to install shift kit and servo that includes servo for 20 buck and 195 to install shift kit. It should help make my tranny last longer but i need a tranny cooler but that was the last of my money i got from my hpp3 i sold i was suppose to use it to get ls1-edit but what the hell. I guess it won't hurt your tranny but if you have hpp3 turn off shift firmness because you don't want to high of line pressure in your tranny and the servo doesn't increase line pressure but shift kit does. I got texas best transmission in arlington to install it and i really like them and they were very knowledgeable so pm me for address and number

Now for a bunch of questions I hope some of you guys can answer.

What exactly does the servo do?

How hard is it to install and what would I have to unbolt?

Is it worth the install on a truck that has no performance mods yet?

What other mods should I go with if I do the servo install?

Would it put alot of extra stress on the tranny?

I have a 03 Sierra with the 5.3, and 3.73's so I still have a warranty. Is it correct to say this would void my tranny warranty?

I would greatly appreciate some info!

1.the servo is a smaller fluid reservoir. it increases line pressure for firmer shifts. (this is the same method used by hypertech to firm up shifts)

2.it is supposedly an easy install for someone experienced. i don't know what to do though. i'm not experienced therefore not trying it.

3.IMO it would be worth the install. these trucks shift dog ass slow.

4.hard to say on mods to use with it. some people experience Torque Management (therefore you'd need ls1edit) and some dont'.

5.just the servo shouldn't put too much stress on yur tranny.

6.this would probably void yur warranty but unless something goes wrong with yur driveline there's going to be no reason for them to crack open yur tranny and check it out.
