Removing the Sway Bar and Seats
 

Who all has done this? My truck is in the sig. I got a showdown with a certain cammed 4.8 Wed. night and it looks like I might need all the help I can get. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_images/icons/tongue.gif" /> The front sway bar looks pretty easy to pull at the track, but has anyone noticed if that really helped their traction? I'd like to be able to drop my hitch/spare/tailgate, but in the past I would loose traction big time with them all off and swaybar on. BTW I have the stock suspension.

What about the passenger seat in a RC? How much of a PITA is it to remove, and how much does it weigh? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

We didn't get the cam done last night, but we're going to try to get 'er done tonight. I'll have to let you know the outcome tomorrow!

Pulling the sway bar helps on my T/A and on my Mustang. I doubt it would hurt your traction at all so I would try it. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Sway bar removed would help and the passenger seat weigh's 52 lbs.(cloth split not including console)

Well I pulled the whole damn thing last night and I'm driving around today with it off. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" /> I'll find out tonight how much of a difference it makes with traction in the 1/4. Handling isn't too bad without it, just remember to go slower around corners that what you normally would.

Oh yeah, the sway bar and end links combined weighed in at 25lbs total. Took about 20 mins to pull it all off. I especially like the fact that I got that weight off the front end too. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />

On my T/A I yanked the whole thing for weight savings and I still handle fine around town.

On the truck I am not sure about running without it 24/7. We dont handle the bes as is LOL. So it would probably be a track only mod for the truck.

25lbs!! wow, i pulled mine off and it was only 8lb's with all the hardware, didn't know there would be that big of a diference between trucks.

Parish,for some reason the 4x4's sway bar is alot lighter.Seem's like it would be the other way around. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />
