I think it about has to be barbell. I did complete rebuild, all new parts and machine work. From the very first start up it had low idle pressure. After break in, I dropped pan and put on new o ring just in case I messed up putting new one on during rebuild. Truck runs great, no odd noise, just low idle pressure. I put on another new pump last night just to make sure it wasn't faulty pump

I will look what tolerance was with plastigage, i wrote it down at my garage. I put in new cam bearings, regular oil pump at first and just swapped in mellings high pressure oil pump. I put new cam retainer plate. I put in new barbell but it went in hard. I can't remember for sure, but kind think I remember I very tiny sliver of the oring coming off when installing it. Mobli 1 5w 30 oil.

If this is the case, You will have a loss of oil pressure as you have described.
