That just doesn't make sense to me. I know that with an ext. cab it would slow me down more than others. With my mods I can't believe I didn't run faster. I was thinking I would run AT LEAST 15.2 with the weather being cool. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="gr_sad.gif" />

When I get my cam (crane cam 208/216-.530/.530 lift @ 113lsa), higher gears (3.90 or 4.10) with an Eaton, and MT ET streets, should I knock at least 1-1.5 seconds off my time. Right know I have Cooper Discoverer H/Ts - 255/70/16 on my stock rims. They don't stick worth sh*t! I was spinning 15 or 20 feet down the track.

Not to be rude but you don't have anything. If your wanting to get low 15's in the '99 w/ ext. cab your gonna need headers. at one point i had Airade, hpp III, and edelbrock headers and i was running a 15.3@88mph. if i were you i would get headers before the cam.

eventually i am going to get the comp 212/218 cam. before i get that though i'm going to get Yank converter w/ 2600 stall. if i were you i would start off with the headers and i am pretty sure you will be running low 15's. just trying to help. the times you have are about normal, especially with the '99s.

Get rid of your Jet module for one, those things do absoultely nothing. Get a Hypertech, and get rid of the crappy 99 shift points.

You don't really have many mods, so your times are not that bad.

That cam will be a big difference over the stock 99 cam. But power will definitely move higher in the rpm range. I suggest a torque converter instead of gears. The converter will offset that cam and improve that 60' time, otherwise you will be hurting out of the hole even with gears.

Lets say I was to put headers on my truck (LaPole), my crane cam, and then use a diablo programmer for tuning and raising shift points (and get rid of the jet chip). Would that make it even harder to get traction? I'm for sure going to do these mods, just saving the $ right now.

After these mods I might look into a 2600 stall, higher gears with an Eaton or Detroit Locker, and some better gripping tires. Will MT ET streets and other slicks fit on the stock 16" rim without any problems? Thanks.

Headers would be nice,but the ASM long tubes I like are $850.& install $200. and are very obvious. I pull trailers often so I opted for a 4.10 set-up as a first big move,it's invisible and put me in the low 15's."Of course its factory,isn't your F-150?" Jim

1999stepside, Are you running them on a Steel 16x6.5 stock rim or the stock aluminum?
