Question about SES light on 03 1500

I hope 1 that I can get an answer and 2 that this is the right forum to post it in. Ok here goes, I have been having a SES light and on the mileage display I am getting reduced engine power. The only thing really is the oil pressure sending unit isn't working so if that has any affect let me know. When it says reduced engine power the throttle in unresponsive if that matters/helps. Please help me with this. Thanks.

Find a local auto parts store and have them read the SES code. Come back here with the number.

Well that is the problem, it won't really move and I didn't have time tonight to spend much time messing with it. So I just left the neg battery terminal off to see if I could get it to maybe reset. I will work on it tomorrow and see if I can get it to Advance or something

If ur truck thinks it has no oil pressure it will go into reduced engine power mode, get a new sender and it will fix ur problem almost positive. Unless u have a real oil pressure problem that is.

Is that a dealer only item?

I went today and bought the oil pressure sending unit today from the dealership. I will replace it this evening when I get home and see if it helps the SES light

I think you could've gotten it at any auto parts store but let us know what happens.

Does the intake manifold have to come off or can you do it without removing it? What is the best way to install it?

I went back and rechecked it after looking it up on Google and come to find out the sensor was unplugged. I plugged it back in and the gauge is reading but it is reading very low. I am not sure if the sensor is even good. The truck has run great for a couple months with no indication of the sensor not working causing problems. Whatelse could it be? Or could the sensor still be bad and the fact that the gauge is reading so low is causing the problems?

clean the throttle body before you buy anything else, carbon buildup can stick the blade and throw a ETC code, causing the REP mode.
