question about muffler

truck is a 1999 nbs ecsb 5.3 i plane on running a magnaflow muffler si/so. my question is this. i am running a catless y pipe and am not sure on witch muffler i should go with a 18" case or a 22" case. i want a nice low rumble i plan on dumping it behind the axle with a 4" tip. so without the cats would a 18" case be ok or to loud?

other then the y pipe exhaust is stock.

I had the 22in total length so 18in case?? With a catless y-pipe and the rasp was terrible, some may like it but I couldnt stand the drone and rasp.

I added a ultra quiet resonator and that took away all the rasp.

Isn't it the bigger the case the quieter they are?
