Default Paging Richmond Gear Owners

My girlfriend (because she rocks) got me a set of 4:10's from Richmond for my birthday.

However, Richmond tells me that the gears will not work with vehical speed sensor?! located in the pinion!?

The truck is a 2001 and the Richmond part number is 69-0165-1

Will it work?

Yes they will work, what the hell are they talking about!?! The speed sensors for our trucks are on the transmission and have nothing to do with the rear end. Also if you look at Granatellis web site, they have inline box that plugs between the transmission and the wires from the computer that adjusts the speedometer after gear swap! It all works by revolutions and the gear number that is pluged into the computer.

Remember, GEARS ARE JUST GEARS, no more, no less.

Or do you have some kind of GMC I have not heard of?

I have read everyones post that have run Motive Gear, Precision Gear, Richmond Gear, GM parts Gear, and a couple others, all with no problems. The biggest thing guys run into is that they sometime get gear whine, just make sure the shop sets them up correctly. 4.10s on a 8.5" ring is kind of getting tight, and may make a little noise during high speed running, or deceleration, but should be pretty much whisper quite. Mine makes none unless I am going over 110 mph, then it gets a little loud.
