Ok, so what 5.3 engine would you build for a 1000hp twin turbo setup and why?

I want stock mileage of a 5.3, that's why I'm choosing that little engine. I also trust it after running a 1000hp LS1 for a few years. They use the same crank and rod length.

not meaning any disrespect here so don't take this the wrong way. After spending what's necessary to create a 1000 HP engine, why are you worried about mileage? At that extreme power level it sounds like the old addage "you gotta pay to play".

FWIW I have a stock 5.3 and I'm not getting "stock" mileage.

The motor that's in my truck now I got from Richard, atomic, and if I remember right it's an 04 short block, it has the better rods and what not I know, then just rid bolts and was studs. Stock 243 heads. Pro-flo intake. Twin MP 70s. TU1 cam. Its really a pretty simple setup. And should be right about 750 to the ground right now on 18psi. The motor didn't skip a beat yesterday so everything seems good!

Guys you don't have to pay to play. Mileage on an engine will not be affected by putting TwinTurbo onto it unless you're heavier on the throttle. That's the beauty of turbos.

I had a 1000 hp twin Turbo LS1 but now I want to build a 5.3 to increase mileage. When you're going TwinTurbo you're better off building a smaller engine for mileage. It's not like when you're naturally aspirated and need more cubic inches to make power/torq, for TwinTurbo's all you do is turn up the boost. I speak from experience... basically what I wanted out of this post was to find out which is the best stock platform available with a 5.3 right now, looks like l33 or lh6, I cannot decide yet... Lol.

Sprayeddenalli why did you go with such big turbos? Where does full boost come on with just romping on it? What a/r housings? I had bb pt61's with the gt35r wheels on my ls1 running 19psi on pump. I'm going a touch smaller on this 5.3 to try to get a little better spool, or maybe go to .63 a/r, I had .69 if I rember, I'll have to look, lol, it's been a few years since I've even thought about this stuff...

I realize your asking about a 5.3 but the 4.8 is a better air pump especially when boost is involved. Why not a 4.8?

edit: Throw on some 243's and your at probably around 8.5 CR.
