Default No cats, how much louder?

Running stock manifolds, OR y pipe, and lets say a magnaflow muffler with 3" tips out corners.

What i want to know is, deleting cats....is this going to cause alot of exhaust drone inside the cab? i will try different mufflers if need be, i am just wanting to decide on cats or not cats. I don't want interior drone from removing them.

THanks

depends on the muffler...take your exhaust back past your axle and you shouldn't have any problems

why are you going to delete the cats? they don't impede the flow at all really. if you're just looking to make it louder, then yes it will make it louder, but performance wise its not going to really do much. if all you want is for it to be louder, get a dynomax bullet instead of that magnaflow.

Yes, i plan to go past axle and exit after rear tires on both sides angled. Out the corners so to speak. I like the deep tone of the magnaflows. had one on my F150 and loved it.

If you go with the Magnaflow and take the exhaust past the rear axle you should be fine. If you go with a Flowmaster or any single chamber muffler it is going to be very loud and is going to drone. I have Pacsetter LT's and ORY and a Single Chamber Flowmaster and dumped out the corners of the bed and it is VERY LOUD. I am going to change my muffler this next week.

had a dynomax on my ls1 trans am and liked it on there, but i am not looking for louder neccessarily.

i have to repair my stock y pipe. it is busted at the mounting plate to drivers side header. bent up pretty good. i figure the exhaust shop is going to take me for 100 or so to fix it back. for another 100 i can get rid of the cats and go wtih a OR y pipe. sell off the cats for scrap and really be sitting pretty decent on the OR setup.

it's not a performance gain for me really. just convenience. i just don't want to be ran out of my truck by drone or smell!
