Thanks, I have a feeling you are gonna be a source for alot of answers to the questions that arise as this swap gets underway.

So having not done any of this before, is swapping the ECM plug and play to original fuse box or do I need to get that from the donor vehicle too?

the new harness will swap into the fuse block with a bolt. i had the black on in my 99 & swapped to an 01 setup & harness.
also, if you don't want to tap the water pump (if i'm seeing that picture correctly) for the TB bypass, just get a t-fitting for the small coolant line going to the top, pass side of the radiator. run the hose from the valley cover under the TB to the t & cap off the TB barbs.

That will work fine with the bypass. I weighed that option along with a couple others and was looking for a cleaner look without seeing extra clamps.

Day before the swap was complete and up and running.

You're talking about the small hose going over the CAI tube... correct?

looks like we're referencing the same line (mine's under my intake tube), but what i described is how i ran mine.
i will admit... that's super clean (just like everything else in your garage)

Does anybody know if the frame mounts for a 4x4 v8 Silverado are the same as a 2wd v8 Silverado on the drivers side? I used the frame mounts from a 2004 5.3 4x4 and I noticed that the frame mount from the v8 is wider than the part of the frame that the mount bolts to on the v6. Does anybody know why this is?

1.No, they are not the same.
2.Yes, the frames are physically different. See mount types in quote below.

Top mount is coil spring V6, middle is coil spring V8, bottom is torsion bar V8

So how screwed am I now that my engine and transmission showed up and its DBW instead of DBC like it was advertised as? Is the harness even remotely capable of working if I have ECU loaded with DBC info?

Probably going to have to re-pin some of the harness at the PCM.

Have to take the single DBW plug apart and change to the DBC's 2 separate plugs. 1 for TPS 1 for IAC.
