Thanks... I'll have to take a closer look, at first inspection I couldn't see anyway to separate. I did notice the bracket seemed to be made from two pieces.

Question for you guys. I have read through the entire thread, and searched but I can find the answer. I have a 04 Silverado with the 4.3. I understand I would need a 03-07 classic 5.3 or 6.0 in order for the swap to work and be as easy as possible, but what about 04 5.3 out of a Express van? The motor is drive by cable, and I know the 03-07 classics are drive by wire.. would I have any trouble using this motor? It is a complete drop out so I would get the pcm and other goodies.

It should work.

Maybe some minor things here and there but if it's a complete drop out with harness and computer that makes things easier.

Hello I’m pretty new to this thread but I have some questions about a swap I’m trying to do. So my truck is a 2002 v6 Silverado. The engine that Im trying to drop into it is a 5.3 from a 2004 Tahoe. I have the wiring harness, pcm, and fuse block from the Tahoe and my concerns are this: is the harness and pcm going to be compatible for my truck and will it be an easy “plug and play” swap for me? Or will I have to get a harness and pcm from a 99-02 Silverado?

Harness, PCM, DBC throttle body from 99-02 will be easiest
