A 10-15 dollar napa wix air filter does pretty darn good.

I don't see a big gain in a high flow/premium filter unless you make some serious power. Oiled filters are dumb in my mind, even if you don't over oil it the oil still tends to mist the MAF sensor.

yep, I hear that all the time but I like the re-usability/washability of the K&N style filters - I use MAF cleaner all the time too to keep the MAF sensor clean :)

beating a dead horse but with six the 51042 filter is standard on all truck LS engines. i noticed while buying one recently that six makes a taller filter under part number 51045. same diameter and thread.

has anyone ran this filter before?

Wix for paper, K+N for washable.
