Default OBX Long tube headers compatibility question

I want to buy these OBX long tube headers off ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/00-03...spagenameZWDVW however, it says they're for a hummer, silverado ss, yadda yadda yadda. Will these fit without any clearance issues on my RCSB 2wd 6L truck? Also, if the headers fit, can I use the off road Y pipe that comes with them or will I need to have one fabbed up? I just prefer the look of stainless to ceramic. Let me know what you think.

Two wheel drive, yes. Mines a 4x4 and i had to grind down the yoke on teh front driveshaft so I could use 4 wheel drive again. They updated the design from what i heard but if those are the ones your looking at they are the old style. I dont see why they wont fit your 2WD.

i just noticed, these headers look great, but they have 0 collector length. i was under the assumption that collector length played a difinitive role in the torque/hp curve of the engine.

matter of fact, back in the day on my old race car, i ran a collector extender when i ran open headers.....i tried to get full collector length to around 26" to make best power.
i think thats why shorty headers dont make power....because they have no collector.

good looking headers though! pretty.

So you think these will not put out as much power as the pacesetters? The pros of these are.

Stainless
Look to be better quality than pacesetters
have a flange welded on already for collector
price is the same as a pacesetter

pacesetter cons
people say they fit like ****
people say they rust
no flanges welded on, if you weld a flange on you'll ruin the ceramic coating.
everyone has pacesetters

Could we be talking about more than a few RWHP between the two? If we're talking only 5-10 RWHP I would still almost lean towards the OBX's

I just looked at them again, why would you need more collector length when you have their fancy off road ypipe that runs straight off the collector anyways. Isn't this the same as a long collector?

I love my pacesetters. They fit great and the coating is holding up great, even in the snow.

well, if we used this logic, we could almost just use a shorty header without the cat and run a long y pipe off of it.....

a long tube with a well formed collector makes more power for that very reason...all the cylinders merge together in the collector and even out pulses more so than short headers without a collector.

as for h.p. differences between the two....i couldnt say. i have read dyno sheets of near 30 rwhp with pacesetters and ORY.....and have seen dyno sheets of only a 7-10 rwhp gain from shorties. i think these would fall in between the two, but i am no expert. they are DEFINATELY better than a stock manifols either way. they already look to have bungs for all 4 sensors and nice boltup flanges for the y pipe.

its your call, and your truck. do whichever you feel is the best for you.

I have Pacesetters and i like them. I was considering the OBX's at one point it time, but i don't like how the OBX's collectors are 2.5" (pacesetters are 3"), primaries are 1.5" (they used to be listed as 1.75" so it's either a typo or they changed them), and the huge hump on the driver side. I do like the fact that they are SS and have the flanges welded on.

any confirmation on OBX getting their hands on the new design to copy

you will just need a different cat back with the 6.0L headers, or you might be able to have them switch the y-pipe to a singel cat back deal
