is this too big?

What will this due to my bottom end, and my gas mileage? Daily driver.

00ChevyScott 10-31-2008 12:17 PM

no. not too big at all

Thechevyman122 10-31-2008 12:18 PM

what about my gas mileage? will it suffer, 12.9/17 now

00ChevyScott 10-31-2008 12:21 PM

if you're worried about gas mileage, sell all your mods.

No not to big, but I would suggest a lil bigget stall, another tune :) It will have a lil low end loss, due to the dur, your heavy truck thowe. You bottom end won't be affected anymore then with the stock.. Only time it hurts is when you have FI or the squeeze..

Off course you will lose gas milage, it will be making more power, but a good tune will help it out.

alright what do yall recomend as far as a tune right now i have a wait4me, will he be able to sufficiently tune for it? My options on a dyno tune seem limiited based on the awd and the money issue.

No im not worried about gas mileage, but i do have to make sure that the juice is worth the squeeze if you know what i mean. I also have heard of people gaining with their cam, so i was just wondering what effect we were talking. you think 1mpg?

i would be able to go with a tbtc, at 2600 would that be sufficient?

KevinF56 10-31-2008 03:29 PM

will a 2600 stall be sufficient? yes. a 3,200 rpm stall would be more fun though if you ask me, especially in that heavy truck of yours.

Get the TR224. It is the most popular cam of all time for the LS1 and the "quintessential cam for the 346" and for good reason. It makes more power everywhere in the powerband over the stock cam. And it will be even more docile in your 6.0. It has proprietary lobes which will be superior to your off the shelf comp grind.

Thechevyman122 10-31-2008 03:41 PM

no way i can afford a new cam, the 220/224 seems pretty similar, will it not do about the same?
