Default Newbie question

Hey guys, I'm considering purchasing an 05RCSB5.3Auto3.232wd and with the employee discount I can get into this thing for about 20K. Lotta vehicle for the money if ya ask me. Anyway, based on the little amount of time I have been on here, it appears that a truck similar to what I am looking at with a decent amount of gear and mild 3000sh Stall with some form of drag radial should get me into the mid 9sh 1/8 mile. Would this be a correct assumption?? I know there are variables to account for here but just a general picture would be great.

I have an 04 GTO with quite a few mods and is pretty quick but I'm kinda missing having a truck.

Forget the 3.24 and go for the 3.73, you will be a lot happier in the end.

Actually, I was thinking more like 4.10's and a SSF3500 TCI. Worked pretty well in my Z.

I dont know what that is in the 1/4, but I would think high 14's in the 1/4 with 3.73's. I want one too, but think I'll wait on the RCSS thats suposed to be out in 06 or 07.

Cant blame ya there. Coarse you pretty much have the same thing now anyway. Mid 9's in the 1/8 is around mid to high 14's in the 1/4.

I appreciate the offer but I kinda wanted a Silverado. Plus, I need a little bit of that discount to eat up some negative equity in my GTO.
