need help on 5.3 Vortec stroker kits? and 4l60e rebuild kits?

ive got a 1999 X-cab Z71 5.3 w/ 4l60e with 227,000 miles on stock drivetrain. no problems with drivtrain just want to fix it before it breaks

im wanting to buy a 5.3 block and build my own motor, wanting to know what would be best for gaining power, when i do rebuild??? also wondering about 4l60e rebuild kits whats best to handle power/ towing needs???

not looking for insane power but getting around 400 HP would be nice, need power more for towing than speed so the more torque the better, and the cheaper the option the better!!!

first off welcome to the forum second id ditch the 5.3 and upgrade to a Lq4 or Lq9 and for a tranny check out performabuilt transmission there sponsor of this site ======>

If you want to rebuild your 5.3 you could get a set of ls1 3.9 pistons and make an iron LS1...But as mentioned it would be easier/more efficient to source an LQ9 and put a cam in it...Just keep reading old threads on here and ls1tech..

AFA the tranny goes, ordering a pre-built one from one of the site sponsors would be a good idea...Not a lot of local shops have quite figured out how to build them right...
