I'm wanting to go with a 2.5 inch dual set up with Magnaflow mufflers and x-pipe.My problem is i can't decide what Magnaflow to go with.Should i go with oval or round??If i go round..what length should i go with???...and what are the differences in oval and round...sound and performance wise???

I think the rounds are bigger and quieter that the ovals. I have the 4x9x14 and they are pretty civil sounding. The x quietens it down a little too so I bet some big mufflers will make this setup really queit.

Well if performance is the same,I may go with the round Magnaflows.I must be getting old...i dont want quiet exhaust but i dont care much for one that's too loud either.I'm more concerned with performance than sound anyway.
Kenny...how does your set up sound inside the cab running them dumped before the axle??you get any interior drone noise??
Did the truck feel alot better going with duals over a single setup??
Thanks for replying

Hey ranwalk, You might want to throw the question to Fast4.8 because I think I remember seeing that he is running a x-pipe with dual oval magnaflows that are dumped before the axle.

dang ranwalk, our trucks are going just about the same route. first the programmer and now exhaust. when the whipple goes on i am taking off the old exhaust (no cats, o2 simms, flowmaster Y and 1 in 2 out muffler) in favor of an all stainless dual 2 1/2" no cats, o2 simms, magnaflow X, two magnaflow mufflers part #14326, and either dump them right after the muffler or in front of the bumper. u think that will be enough flow for the blower?

Just an input from me I like performance first most also, and I love my single 3" with 18" bullet, all the way to the right rear behind the wheel. There is very little restriction, and this is what I want for when the ATI goes on shortly. I didn't really want single exhaust at first either, but there is less crap under there, less weight, and it flows liek a MF. My only restric is the cats.

I'm thinking the 2.5 inch pipes will fit the bill for the best overall setup, for low,mid and top end power.Even though i'm F/I i think dual 3inch will be over kill for my setup.Since the whipple likes to make low end power i dont want to do anything to take too much away from that.I'm hoping that freeing up the exhaust a little will help it make some more power up top without hurting the low end.
What do you guys think??Does that make any since or am i out of my mind??Remember...this is my daily driver.
Thanks guys for all your feedback
