Muffler ideas
 

Hey guys

Im looking to do a muffler change on my 2003 4.8 ecsb. The truck is stock as of now, im going to do a few bolt on mods soon. Im guessing the stock exhaust flows enough to support a mostly stock 4.8, so i was thinking of just replacing the stock muffler, and also to save money, as most of the extra coin has to go to the my 78 Trans Am...Anyways, the truck is my DD, so im not looking for anything to intense, and plus im in and out of neighborhoods all day...Im just curious as to what everyone else is running, or suggest

I just stumbled across the dynomax vt mufflers, anybody else running these, if so how do you like them

Like a flowmaster with better flow, spintech is a nice muffler and magnaflow 18" body and 22" body

Magnaflow 3" in/out race series muffler sounds great on my mostly stock 4.8.

Yah magnaflows seem to be popular on our trucks....

I was looking more at the dynomax vt thinking id give it a shot, and im not sure i could trust the spring controlled valve inside to last as a long as a normal muffler would.Plus being in canada there is alot of expansion and contraction that would happen during the winter which may not farewell for the setup inside..

L33 - do you have any sounds clips of your magnaflow set up

Yah im stuck between 3 mufflers right now, either a magnaflow, spintech, or the corsa db seem to sound real nice. Does anybody recommend a good place to but the spintechs online, ive gone to their website, i was just wondering if there was a site that may have good deals on them, because they seem to be more then the magnaflows

Its prob best to just call them and order. one time I ordered through someone else and it was a pita and they ended up just drop shipping anyway.

So i have decided to go with spintech, im not sure what series yet but it seems they have a muffler for every volume level which is nice...Anyways my truck is a stock 4.8 DD...Would running the stock exhuast with a spintech in place of the stock muffler be adequate flow, or is the stock exhaust a restriction as it is.....The truck will eventually get a tune, and some e-fans, and maybe a vette servo. Im just wondering because if more power can be had by doing duals then maybe i will wait and go that route ...?
