muffler choice

Want to know what exhaust setups others have tried they were happy with. Truck is daily driver and I'd like nothing too loud or droning, side/rear exit. No bolt-ons are available as my truck is kind of rare so must I custom build?
Thinking of using a Magnaflow muffler with dual 3" in and one 4" out.

I have a FlowPro on mine, it is slightly louder than stock, slight drone when towing in a lug situation, otherwise you can not notice a difference hearing wise. It did help in throttle response, but main reason I changed mine was because it was cracked. It fit right in and utilized all pre-muff piping and a 3.5" elbow was needed to attach stock tail pipe.

I had that Magnaflow in a catback for the 1500HD that might fit your truck. I found that it was quite loud in the cab. It worked well and seemed to flow well but it resonated a little too much for me in the cab. This happened when the truck shifted to OD at lower speeds below 2000 rpm and the truck was under a light load.
I would recommend that you look at the Flo-Pro as well. Flo-Pro Performance Mufflers They make a couple of versions of the 2500HD Big Oval that would work on your truck.

Magnaflow will be fairly loud for daily driver on a 6.0l , flo-pro alittle louder than stock.
depends where you live too, salt -snow belt? magnaflow available in SS, FLO-PRO
is aluminized.
flo-pro makes a dual in/out muffler that will fit your stock pipes, part # 2503, will need some sleeves make to fit pipes though

Thanks for the input as I favor stealth and power. I was concerned about the even the quietest Magnaflow being wrong for my application. Okay, the research goes on, FlowPro huh? What about experience with pipe diameters affecting power band? I want linear power off idle with a little scream on top.

http://www.flopro.com/homepage.htm or your local muffler shop should be able to hook you up.
FYI my system has almost no noise on top end but kind of sounds knarly on cold start idles. Once warmed up idles real quiet and is a little louder than stock from there. I do not know which muffler is on my truck but it was supposibly the more expensive of the two direct fitments. Mine sounds alot quieter than the videos on the web site.
