Re: MT -ET streets
DOT approved, You have to get MT tubes, which cost around 50. Jegs is getting a new shipment march 15,
I only live 1/2 away from the track so throwing them on in my driveway will save the trouble of doing it there. Another option is nitto drags, 305/45-18 ,240 from jegs, no tubes needed. p#726-401888 I'd rather stick with the et's. [ March 08, 2003, 11:11 PM: Message edited by: creederado ] |
Re: MT -ET streets
so i have to have tubes to make them street legal cuz i would like these for some street racing

Re: MT -ET streets
The tubes allow them to work,The tires arn't steel belted and can't support the truck without tubes. The DOT specs here only call for a 2-3/32 tread depth. (That is not alot) The MT's have lines running with the direction of travel which meet the so called Tread depth.
I certianly don't know alot about installation on the rim but I was told you had to run tubes to support the weight of the vehicle and allow the outer tire flex on acleration. Somebody chime in if I'm way off. [ March 09, 2003, 10:05 AM: Message edited by: creederado ] |
Re: MT -ET streets
I have MT ET streets on my ext cab truck and have no problem without tubes. They are 28-15-12.5" I do run them at 20psi, which is where the max load specifications are at. I'm not making that much power, but they hook off the line!!!!! Enough to run 1.9x 60' times.

Re: MT -ET streets
ok time to get me some tires
does anyone know how much lower the truck will with 26 in tires or 28's for that matter marc |
Re: MT -ET streets
redaddiction,
i got tubes with my slicks and if you want to run low pressure you'll want tubes, if not they leak a little, not much , but enough to be a pain. The lower the pressure the more traction, if you are running low times, you may need the tubes, maybe a beed lock too. just a thought allen |
Re: MT -ET streets
well i'll get them with out tubes and if i need to run lower pressure then i guess i'll get them down the line
