I would go ahead and check the resistence on the stock OEM wires before you go out and spend $$$ on new performance wires. My stock wires flow really well, and there was no need for me to upgrade the wires. These engines simply come with excelent ignition systems from the factoy to begin with.... just my .02

The mail order giants - JEG's and Summit also stock MSD Ignition products. Their pricing are usually some of the best around.

i agree.

i spent $80 on taylor wires. they sucked. lasted about 2 years. i ended up putting the stockers back in. plus they caused alot of stereo interference because of their low resistance. my amp would have a high pitched whining sound.

i'll never put any after market plugs or wires in ever again.

STAY STOCK.

MSD wires are about 35 ohms each, stock black wires are about 2500 ohms, and the red wires from the 04+ trucks are either 1300 or 300 ohms. i can't remeber now. i'll check again next time an 04 comes in for service. so yes the MSDs have way lower resistance than stock.

I don't know how the MSD's work on the 5.3 but they are not good on the 5.7 corvette engine. The length from the coil to plug is so short the performance wires often cause more problems than they solve. I have thorley headers and stock wires with no interference problems at all.
