that would be a sick ride, how much for one of those? im trading my truck in tomorrow! 20s on a civic... thats a lot of metal to cut

you need a TC, tune and traction! i bet that would knock off an easy second on a 0-60 run

i think it has to do with a few things. a tahoe has 3.73 gears. what do you have 3.42? you also have a cam that will not pull until around 3000 rpm's. also you have a very free flowing exhaust. you need to have some back pressure to make the torque come around to pull you out of the hole. is it a single muffler system? and in the 1/4 you will win. when most start modding these trucks they lose some low end to gain a lot of top end. they use stalls to make up for it. good luck.

99's also have some false knock issues. Have you changed the fuel filter?? That made a huge difference on my truck. How old are your plugs??
F8L pretty much nailed it. You said you shift at 5200??? I think most would say to shift at no lower than 6K with that cam.
Also, a stopwatch is not an accurate gauge at all.

Trucks have A LOT less power than a LS1 car. Those things may dyno in around 300+ at the wheels stock, while a 5.3 is down the 220 range. That's a lot of ground to make up on top of the weight difference.

First of all I wouldnt just stop with the truck. Your running a stock tune. With a custom tune and the mods you have your truck will be a shitload better. Hell I only ahd intake and exhaust and when I got my custom tune it made a huge difference and you have a cam on a stock tune and a stock converter. You dont know what 2 mods could do for you! Hell a converter can give you 5-7tenths in the 1/4 and will sure the hell help your 1/8! Man you need a custom tune and a stall badly and you will slap yourself for wanting to give up on it! Hell my 03 EC 4.8 runs the 1/8 in the 10's and my 1/4 mile best in 9degree weather and all humidity is 15.8 and thats will mods below(N/A) The last mod I did besides the n20 was going from 3.42 gears to 4.10 and it was good for 4 tenths. Do the right thing and get a custom tune and a tank/tci stall and later down the line do the n20 and youll be happy! I promise!

Like everyone else has said, that cam on a stock tune with a stock converter will HURT your 0-60 times. You probably only gained hp from 4000rpm up. And you may have lost a little down low. If you shift at 5200, you only gain hp for like 1/2 a second in a 0-60 run.

Remember, heavy trucks take power UNDER the curve to be fast. My procharged truck ran a 15.2 with the stock converter, because all my gains were ABOVE 3500rpm. With a 3800 stall being my only change, I went 13.5. I didn't have good power under the curve. The stall moved me out of the area where i didn't have good power.

There's nothing wrong with your truck. Just mismatched mods.

Move your shifts to 6200, and get a 3000 stall. I'll bet your 0-60 times will be in the 7 second range then.

Yeah when I had all the mods I have now except the n20 with the 3.42 gears I was pushing 252rwhp in this heat and I felt that I should ahve been a hell of alot faster. When I got the 4.10 setup it was what I was looking for! I think your in the similar boat you just need to do what some say are their most productive mods-custom tune and torque converter----------------

I think it's my fuel pump.... Please see my other post. It's whining constantly and I'm getting some misfiring and rough at idle and it seems as I go down the road with the cruise set.

Does that sound right? Anywhere to get one for UNDER 350 like advance auto wants?
