Quote: hey, You'll get there one of these days too, you just gotta quit being a ***** and spray that bitch
I'd ******* spray it if I didn't have a stock transmission, stock converter, stock gears, an open differential, and stock manifolds......

EDIT-****, I'm depressed, now I'm gonna go down this case of Keystone.

Stock shortblock will live at 7k as long as the oil is kept up. Dont let it live on some old oil for 12k or better, you will then be on borrowed time.

This is experience telling me this. The bottom end held together on mine even after this, it was the wrist pin that I had problems with.

mines got 118k on it, I'm getting ready to throw a cam in it. How much would arp bolts and a ported oil pump run? Is there anything else that'd be a weak link for turning it to 6600?

I shifted my stock bottom end 5.3L at 7300rpms 1-2 and 2-3. Had heads and LPE GT-1 cam, and stock springs. After 75k miles of this and a 225 shot I finnaly spun a cam bearing.

I know a circle track motor builder that sells 5.3 and 6.0 GenIII stock car motors that are completely stock short block with only ARP rod bolts and he rev limits them to 7k. They even warranty it for a year, unheard of in racing. These motor turn 7k lap after lap.
