I removed the screen from my MAF last year. After researching it some, and running ATAP, I realized it was adding to my problem of running lean. SO.... I had my truck in for warranty work (99 Silverado) and had an '01 rental Silverado for the last few days. When I got my truck back, I swapped MAFs on the trucks. So I now have a virgin '01 MAF (about 11,000 miles) on my truck. Anyway, it now feels like $hit! Very sluggish, and non responsive when I'm on the throttle. It died at a red light, which it has never done before. I am going to hook it to my laptop tomorrow to see whats going on.
Is there any difference between MAFs for the different year models?
I can get my original MAF back pretty easily (I know the rental manager).

OK - I need to change my name to BigDumbAssTex.
I checked the MAF connector, and it wasn't pushed in firmly. I didn' get an SES light, but it ran very bad. Now, it is just fine. I will let it set in some, and put it on ATAP later and see if it richened my mix any.
I guess I was in such a hurry to get the MAFs swapped that I neglected to get it back in correctly. Oh well, no harm done.
