LS9 cam swap on L92

What all is needed for a LS9 cam swap in a L92?

Just the cam, maybe some patriot gold springs, and a 3-bolt conversion kit, VVT parts? I don't know if I really need the 3-bolt kit or not so looking for some feedback from a few of you guys who have done this already. Also what is needed to disable the VVT aside from just doing it in the tune?

Also, what redline and rev limiter setting are you guys using with the LS9 cam and upgraded springs?

I did this same swap a few weeks ago.... The LS9 cam swap in a 6.2 or L92 truck motor is easy. It's just like any other cam swap, but with a different timing cover. This is a V.V.T delete

Lingenfelter sells a whole swap kit, meaning LS9 cam and VVT delete kit, but it's not nessary. All of the parts are GM dealer parts.

Blue LS6 springs
12638427 LS9 Cam - LS9 cam specs: 221/230 .558 .552 -122.5 LSA
12586481 3 bolt 4x trigger cam gear
3 bolts for the cam (same as the cover bolts)
12600326 LS2/LS3 timing cover (FRONT COVER ASSEMBLY)
LS2 crank seal
12588670 LS2/LS3/LS7/L92/L76 timing chain dampener (wedge block style 12588670)
6qts of oil
oil filter
2 gallons of Dex-Cool antifreeze

Everything else is reused. . . .

One thing in that parts list I personally would change is the dampener. While I had it apart I would go back with the simple LS2 wedge type dampener over the spring type LS3.

I'm goint to do a LS9 Swap into an L9H. I work at a GM dealership and got the parts guy to get me part numbers for the valve springs and pushrods for the LS9 and L9H. The pushrods are the same. The valve springs are different only due to the LS9 springs are longer. The LSA engine has the same valve springs as the L9H and just about all other Gen IV engines out there. So the only parts I will need for this swap is the cam, sproket, cam bolts, and front cover.

so there is no need to swap springs at all?

no part numbers are the same. Unless you go aftermarket for a safety margin.
