lm7 00 Silverado cam question
Hey guys I've been an avid follower on this forum for months now and finally decided to sign up and join the gang. I understand this might be a common question asked but I am about to order a Texas Speed 224r .581 lift with the 112 lsa to put in my ls1 I have all the bolt-ons already (long tube headers, CAI, Tune) but my question is will this cam be really sluggish down low without a stall? MY plan is to order a Circle D 3400 converter in January, Im not making a strictly strip truck by no means it will see some action but for the most part it will be a DD. Thanks for any feedback!

No input guys?

That's probably on the big side, mine is 218/224@.050 and it's sorta lazy below 3500. I would look more at 210-216@.050 on the intake side and maybe widen the LSA out to 114.

You're gonna want low end torque especially judging from your sig. I have a 5.3 with a comp 212/218 low lift with a 2800 stall in a z71 turnin 285's. It does pretty well, but I need to add headers and a long time down the road either a 370 and/or a blower... For now it really starts to pull with the stall around 2500 rpm

Yes it will be a turd down low with the stock converter. I'd do them at the same time.

What about a Comp 212/218, .522/.529, 114 LSA

Well guys I was dead set on this 224r cam but after some open minded searching im going with comp 212/218 high lift cam .558/.563 115LSA

I'd stick with the 224 and just get a converter.
