Default Lets get rid of this false knock

Ok, I am sure that I am dealing with some false knock. I picked up some resistors at radio shack but I am not sure that I got the right ones. I picked up 2 packs. The first pack are .25watt, 5% tolarance 10k-Ohm. The second pack are .5watt, 5% tolarance 10-Ohm.

Will either of these work? Should I put one in line with each K sensor, or should I twist 2 together and use a ground with each circut, like the post below talks about....
Ideas?

did you try 100octane gas? if it is real knock and you tell the computer to ignor it you will break a piston.

now that the disclaimer is done this is what i did. some others tried it and got a ses light after awhile but it worked great for me(no light). i still saw KR on the computer before i could hear it but no more false knock.

you have to put one 10k resistor inline with each wire. just to be clear here you cut one of the wires to one of the knock sensors and solder each end of the resistor to the 2 wire ends. now do it again with the other wire. if you get a light you could try a 5k resistor. if you still have false knock but no light you could go up to 15k or 20k.

if you do get a light there is a way to wire it so you dont get a light but since you have a 99 like i did i say just try that first and worry about the light if it comes on.

Parish,
I mixed up that xylene gas just as your recepie showed. I noticed no change in the knock whatsoever. Where did you tap into the wires at? I guess it is a dark blu and a light blu wire. I am gonna try one these little 10K-ohm resistors and see if they help.
