L33 pushrod length??

Hey guys, im getting close to finished on my l33 build and i was measuring for pushrod length today with the comp cam checker. I know srewed all the way in its 6.800". Well i measured 4 different valves today and got a consistent 7.200".. I know i need to factor in lifter preload but that still only puts me at 7.250". That seems really short compared to what i see most people running. My engine build specs that would effect anything to do with pushrods are: .018" milled from decks(to achieve .009" out of the hole with pistons), stock .051" head gasket, 799 heads milled to achieve 59cc chambers, also running morel 5315 "drop in" lifters. I double checked every valve i did to make sure the lifter was on the base circle of the cam before measuring. Im kinda lost here. Does anyone have a similar set up? What pushrod length did you wind up with?

Even if you know how to do it, id give these videos a rewatch. I mustve watched them 10 times.

Good videos and thanks for the help. I ordered the 7.250" from summit and they should be home when i get there friday. I will install a couple and check their fitment. So with Morel 5315's (most people recommend .050" preload with these), after 0 lash i will want about 1 turn when i hit 22 lb ft??

those two videos are contradicting; one says 1/2 to 1 turn and the other says 1 to 1 3/4 turn. I say 1 to 1 3/4 turn is the better of the two. i think i went 1 1/2 on my set up.

good luck with your build.

Yeah i caught that, thanks for the help. Since i am running the Morel lifters, which require less preload than the orm or ls7's i am going to shoot for about 1 turn. That should put me close enough to .050" preload
