L33 engine

Sometimes during start up or after start up it'll tick for like 10-15 mins down the road. And then sometimes it doesn't. And it can do it randomly too sometimes like after driving for 15 mins and I'm sitting at a red light it'll start ticking and then doesn't stop for another 10-15 mins of driving. It's aggravating. Oil pressure is good. Sounds like lifter tick but it's so random I don't know what could be causing it. Just changed my oil and still does it randomly. Some days it don't even do it.

Sounds like a lifter tick or you have a broken exhaust manifold stud somewhere.

Never hurts to toss some trans fluid in the oil to help clean up the lifters, I like to replace 1 quart of oil with trans fluid.

I ran engine flush in it before I changed oil and it still does it.

So you run ATF fluid in your oil all the time?

I don't currently but have many times before. It's the best way to keep everything clean on the inside or if you maybe just bought a vehicle or something. It's my way of cleaning everything out if you don't know the history on it.

But I'm only guessing at a lifter or exhaust leak of sorts. Those are the two most common things to look at.

But what can explain why it does it randomly? I don't get it. It's bothering me lol
