intake gasket kept going out and would throw some stupid codes then go away, it loved to misfire, it was mainly the intake gasket but i know is common on a vortec 350,

yep they were pacesetters, my neighbor is a bmw mechanic and said that everything i was putting on it was causing these problems, he was a gm mechanic for a long time, he does kno alot but i dont' believe him about the stuff i put on the motor part..

he told you that the shorty headers were causing the intake gasket to leak? I'd look for advice elsewhere

the main problem with the intake gaskets was the gm dexcool deteriorates the rubber orings in the intake gaskets. thats why on 99-up water pump gaskets leak, the rubber in the metal gaskets deteriorates and they leak

no he was saying that i was having problems cause of everything that was going on it. i just put a cai and a magnaflow muffler on the new truck and i am now ready to add headers and i remember having this conversation with him so i figured i'd throw a question to everyone in here
