i know this is silly but who knows about tractor pulls?
first, i have a sponsor!!!!! :) talking cash here :) toolbarn.com, you will be seeing their name around like on my truck and in the vids soon. check them out if you have a chance.
one of the questions(not a sugestion) but a question was asked about the local county fair and entering it into a tractor/truck pull. right off the bat i told him it isn't that kind of truck and dismised it but then he asked what might break. well, if i had a 2500 front and rear probably nothing. i would probably still not do well but it probably wouldn't break. what do you guys know about this kind of thing. i have never even seen it done. could i add 1000lb's in sand bags to my bed and give it a shot? is there a site where people talk about this kind of thing? it might just be fun even if i did suck. |
talk to mike tomac(sp?) He is crazy at tractor pulls. That would be sick though Jim.

First off you would have to get a set of tires, something that will hook up in the dirt. Also a tractor pull normaly is pulling a sled (trailer) with a weight that slide forward closer to the rear axel of you truck, so i dont think puting sand in the back would be what you would want to do

Here are a few fourms i know that talk about sled pulling.. :)

I wouldn't it I were you. I am a tractor puller myself but I use a tractor. I have a white chevy like your 99 if you remember when I was at your house. I tried one time with tractor weights on the front and mud tired and ended up breaking something in the front diff. Coming from what I have done and have seen done it is not a good idea. Your setup would break something BAD for sure. Just my .02

yeah, he will either slam me for thinking about trying it with my truck or be all into it. should be interesting. one thing i can say is i would have to call chuck at finish line transmisions and see if he is cool with it. i am not too worried about it breaking other than the tranny, most of the parts are prety cheap but that tranny is expensive. i would not turn it up maybe just run 12psi or so and see what happens. |
Check these out parish. The first one is funny looking.
