Angry HPP3 tuner corrupted my PCM!!!!

I finally got around to putting my HPP3 tuner on and had problems with the programming. I followed the directions/precautions exactly as stated in the manual. I pulled all 4 fuses for the On-Star system and made sure everything was off. As it was waiting to verify the tuning, it jumped back down to 50% two times and finally said that my computer couldn't be tuned. Then it started to go into default mode and re-install factory tuning. Once again it went to verify tuning and jumped back down to 50% two more times and finally said "Failed Stock Tuning". Anyways, I got my friend to check it out and when he went to program it, the screen said "VCM is Corrupted" call Hypertech. I called Hypertech and they told me to send my PCM and HPP3 in to have them fixed.

I was wondering is anyone else has heard of this problem or experienced this?
This definately pisses me off!

i did some research before i wanted to buy one, the only thing i could find out is when going back to a stock tune the speed shut down is set a little higher then factory, so far no one has said anything else but that.
now humans do make this stuff, not every unit is perfect, you could have pulled the bad apple out of the barrel and they are sending you a new unit.

True! I know it's just one of those little mistakes in life, but I just got irritated. I know it can be fixed and it'll take a little time. I was just letting off a little steam!!!
I'm going to mail it back tomorrow and they said it'll be a 10-day turn-around. It just sucks that I happened to get one of thousands that is defective. OH, WELL !!!

Default Thats why I got rid of mine!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just sold my Hypersh*% because of a similar problem. I had the same tune in for about 4 months because it was the best I could get out of it and went to change a few things for the hell of it and I ended up with no program in my PCM at all. My truck wouldnt start and it wouldnt let me install my stock tuning back in. After talking to Hypertech about 8 times and honestly about 4 hours later of trying to just get my stock program back in it finally did! I unhooked everything I had(system, alarm, and etc....) and it finally worked. I called Hypersh*% to let them know and the guy couldnt believe my truck started because usually if it did what mine did it has to be reflashed by the dealer. I asked him why he didnt tell me that in the 1st place but I'm glad he didnt because I wouldnt of even kept trying to get my truck started! I had to send it back to Hypersh*% and they "fixed it" and gave it all the updates obvioulsy for free and I sold it the day I got it back. I am so glad that it happened because I know have a NELSON TUNE and cant believe I wasted my money on a programmer. Oh yeah the HPP3 was 9 months old! Good luck man they will get it back to you in 2 weeks! Do liek I did get a Custom tune before you even get it back and youll forget all about that piece of sh*% even though it worked for a whole 9 months with no real hp gains!

Hypertech's tech support is a F*CKING JOKE!!!! I tried calling both of their numbers and couldn't get through. I tried at least 20 f*cking times and kept getting "ALL CIRCUITS ARE BUSY, PLEASE CALL LATER". WTF is their problem? Anyways, I finally got a hold of somebody today and he told me that I have to give him my vin# and so on to send it in. I didn't know my vin #, cause my truck was at my friend's, so I'll have to call them back tomorrow. I hope they can fix my PCM right and repair their piece of sh*t programmer, so I can sell it to get some $$ to apply towards getting a NELSON TUNE!!!

Well, I got my PCM back today and will see if it works tomorrow. They also sent me a brand new HPP3, so I'm going to try to get my friend to get his warehouse to give me a refund. If not, I'll sell it online along with my other parts and get me a Nelson Tune!!
