How much of a gain?

Planning on getting some stuff for next year, just curious on what kind of gains i could expect, 1/4 mile wise and hp wise?

I have a 01 RCSB w/5.3
Have a cold air intake already.

Tune prob a Nelsons
Long tubes
Off road y pipe
Decent exhaust system
80mm BBK Throttle body
E Fans
3.73 gears
MSD Coils
MSD Plugs
leveling the back
stock 18" wheels

Things i may do but not set on doing it yet, small shot of nitrous 50-75 at the most and maybe a cam.

well with the tune, longtubes, fans... I say you pick up maybe 30-45hp, maybe drop a second on your slip if you're lucky and are slow enough to begin with :jest:
Not sure what you run now or what gears you were running before, so hard to say how different it will feel.

Cam and nitrous would be exciting though

Out of all those mods... a Nelson tune would most likely be your favorite, makes the truck a lot more fun to drive :)

dont our trucks run a mid 15 or so stock? i ran a 14.4 with full exhaust, cai, tune, efans, and a posi...and the tune needs some work so im sure it would be good

Never taken it to the track, and its basically all stock beside the cai.

i wouldnt waste money on the MSD coils,

snowbunny2 Nov 15, 2011 10:05 AM

^ what he said about the coils. Your stock ones are plenty strong enough. Spend the money elsewhere.

I wouldn't worry with the bbk.

Both of these are true. Our stock coils are pleanty strong, plugs are iffy depending on mileage, and if you're going to start spraying you may need to just change plugs again. Use the money you were going to spend on coils and the throttle body and buy yourself a cam.

The tune is a huge difference, and yeah it makes the truck a whole lot funner to drive!
