Default How much difference? 4.8 to 6.0

im wanting to do the oh so popular 6.0 swap, with a built tranny, what all gains will i have of having the larger motor? will i end up with terrible gas mileage? i just want ALL low end torque, i hardly ever go past 4k rpms, i just want to be able to shoot into the passing lane and go from 60 to 80 without downshifting, and also i hate it when my trucks on cruise and climbing hills makes it downshift, so basicly i just want INSANE low end torque, could care less about top end, and good gas mileage

You could just do a Radix and get all that from the 4.8 easy. There are a few used ones around right now for great prices. F8LZ71 has one up for grabs.

Drop in an 8.1, and you will have lots of Torque.

if you want insane tq get a 408. and spect to spend at least 10k on engine and trans. but you wont get great fuel economy out of a stroker motor......

I did a 6.0 swap from the 4.8 and I love it. I'm still on the stock stall, and a shift kit. It has a mild cam, and it nothing radical, but it has a nice lope to it.

My plans have changed, I'm house hunting, so if you're looking for one that's already built, I've got it. There's only 4,000 miles on it.

I'd recomend a 6.0L with a mild cam for what you're looking to do.
