Default How much boost can you run on a lq9 with 243 heads

All right gays I need some input I have a lq9 with 243 heads and im wanting to go turbo and I dont no how much boost it can take or how much is to much! Plus I dont no what size turbo to run! Thanks for any help thats given!

As long as your tune is good I've seen guys run 12psi with stellar results on an LS2 which is very similar to what you run currently from a head/piston prospective.

yup as long as you run good gas and the tune is good you'll be fine

cant really judge on how much boost, every turbo is going to be different

Boost it to the moon. The biggest restriction will be your stock rods. I bet you can hit 15psi with a good tune. I would say a BW s480 would be the best turbo for the build or you can get the GT45 80mm if your on a budget. With that much compression you will be spooling quick and you got the cubes to support a big turbo. I say let here eat and see what she spits out. Obviously start low and build psi as you go.

Heck yea well I do appreciate the help! I have 42 pound injectors would they be big enuff to run that kinda boost? And who would you guys suggest to tune in the texas area? And this is going to be a budget build for sure just bought a house and im trying to squeeze it past the old lady haha!

What part of Texas, it's a large state with great tuners in all the major areas!

The s480 is way too much turbo for a stock lq9. Go with a 76/68 or 76/75.

Not a chance with 42s, youll want 60s at minimum and a walbro 400 pump.

Im from wichita falls but im willing to drive to get a good tune! My tuner up here can do n/a or nx allday long great but hasnt quite mastered boost yet lol
