You are right Colby. Apprarently its a delivery system with some sort of liquid cleaner. I don't know if it pressurizes the intake system or what.

I think I'll give the Trimaxxx a try. I know I have some piston slap, so there is for sure some carbon build up in my system.

I am concerned one or more lifters are a little sticky. I have more cold start noise than 6 months ago. I imagine that the only solutionif it isn't piston slap alone is oil with high levels of detergents or cleaner in the oil itself. Not too excited about that, though I know some have done it.

How can piston slap be fixed by cleaning the fuel system. The short/no piston skirt is well known as the culprit.

 

That seems goofy, how would carbon deposits make piston slap occur? The only way I could see is if it only built up on one half of the piston, thus causing it to be more unevenly balanced. But that is only a guess as to how it would be caused, and after repeating it to myself seems rathar unfeasable.

All I know is that i am not the only the one that had this fixed.

Ill tell you what , you guys can stay embaressed of your trucks engine at ta light. I am just telling you what works.

Yeah, look at these pictures of my old 5.3L. This engine has 58000kms on it, cold start slap started around 40000kms (lasts for 30 secs at startup). No carbon build up here, I always made sure of that.



I'd try some thicker oil.
