how far can i push my 918 springs ?

Default how far can i push my 918 springs ?

i have Comp Cams "918" springs i am wonder how far i can push them, i know .600 is what there max lift is but can i safely run a little more lift ? i have 1.75 ration roller rockers and hardened 7.4 push rods. what do yall think the biggest lift cam would be i can get. im looking for one in the 23x,24x duration range?

my "new and improved" comp 918s broke with a cam that had .595 lift...i would get rid of them

dang it. ok well then are there any cheap dual spring kits out there? (cheap being in the 3 hundred range)

That's weird. The 918's (also with .595" lift cam) that I had in my Camaro saw 6800 rpm's hundreds of times when I had it, and are still going strong.

Sucks that the consistency of them vary so much.

Oh god not another 918 thread!!! I have had great performance from my 918's as well as many others. Hell I know a few guys running .605" lift on the 918's. There is no need to run a stiffer spring if you do not need it.

im looking to have around .615 .620 of lift. im guessing that little amount would be to much.

patriot performance sells a nice set of dual valve springs, comes with titanium retainers, new seals, locks, etc for 255.00

I put 918s on almost everything I build, unless it gets in the upper 230-240s with heavy valves/rockers/etc.

Im running 918s on .607/.621 lift, 219/235@ .050, and I had to shim them all about .030" to get them to setup where I wnated them to. I also shift at 6500-7000 RPM without and issue ever. I just have a properly setup valvetrain.
