How many of yall have made your own CAI. I have a 5.3L and am looking for a CAI and was wondering if anyone has any plans and their success with them

I have modified the stock air box to get more air in my 8.1 and my 2005 5.3. It made them talk louder that is for sure. Not sure how much better they run, but they sound better. I have a new style 2007, and it has the air box much more opened up than the older ones had, so all I did was to remove the screen out of mass airflow. It helped a little.

If you had a good pipe bender, you make a tube out of 3 inch pipe and smooth our the air flow some that way as well.
