Default Hi Flow or Gutted???

i am thinking about getting random technologies hi flow cats. however i have talked to a couple of people and they suggest gutting my stock ones. what do yall think? have yall noticed any horsepower gains from doing this? thanks.

i cant remember what board it was from, but i do remember seeing some test on the cats, and they said that the oem cats flowed more than the random tech cats. dont know about the validity of the data, but more than one person agreed so i would say if u want more flow than those cats can give you just gut them

I saw the same report. I think the OEM cats they were talking about were the ones from the previous gen trucks. They have one larger cat instead of our two smaller ones.

If it were me, I would remove the cats and add bullet mufflers in their place. You would get open flow with some sound dampening. Then your OEM cats would still be good when you needed to put them back on.

if you just gut the cats then put them back on it creates turbulence inside the cat. so i would just lose them completely.the bullet muffler is badass!
