Default 02 Escalade Engine= LQ9??

From some reading I did the 6.0Ls in the Escalades were all LQ9's, not any LQ4's were used in them. Is this correct?

Looking specificially for one out of an 02.

Do I need to watch out for certain years for the crank extension deal to bolt a 4L60 on the back, or would all Escalade engines be ok from that.

Sorry for the Newbie quesitons, found a good deal on an engine and thinking of jumping on it to put in my 1950 3100......

All Escalade 6.0s are LQ9s. LQ9s were also the 6.0 on the H2 and Silverado SS.

And I can bolt either a 4L60E or 4L80E behind it correct? These dont have the extended crank/spacer thing that the earlier LQ4's had right?

Would the flywheel need to change for either trans? Believe the Escalades had 60's behind them.

Also, what years were cable vs drive by wire Throttle bodies?

All LQ9’s came equipped with the short style crankshaft, designed for use in front of the 4L65E and as such will require the use of the factory spacer and appropriate flexplate to be used with a 4L80/85E transmission. So yes, you could use either a 60/65 or 80/85 behind an LQ9.

The flexplate will be dictated by whichever transmission you decide on, unless you purchase a custom converter to allow the use of an 80/85 in conjunction with the standard 60/65 flexplate and no spacer.

All LQ9’s were factory equipped with ETC, no exceptions.

Thanks!

If I pull the drive by wire throttle body off and replace it with a cable one, will all the sensors plug in and will the computer still run it fine, or do I need to program it/ put in a tune for one that was cable?

My 6 liter is an 02 LQ9 with a 4l80e behind it. The year can be confirmed by the presence of an EGR.

Just a note regarding the trans, if you plan to use a 4l80e, I'd use the new updated 4l80e flexplate instead of using a 4l60e flexplate and conversion converter. The 4l80e flexplate is a stouter piece with a better design.

The one picture I have seen has an EGR from what I can tell. What year would that mean?

If I wanted to put an 80E behind it, I would need an adaptor harness and new tune in the computer correct?

Please also see my question about switching to cable throttle body in the posts above.

THANKS!!!
