#1
Hey guys, I am having pinging at wot,the only change was to delco 41-932 colder .035 vs stock delco which are actually denso's .60 . whipple said use 41-932 .035 gap!!

Need more engine info. Post that, and if no one answers, I'll move it to the Forced Induction section and see if we can dig up something there.
The spark plug info sounds about right though.

Fast 4.8, thanks for your help.by the way your truck looks sweet! engine info: 2000 GMC 5.3l.when I had oe plugs in I did't have the pinging @ WOT!! It started after changing to the ones whipple had recommended. I probably should just put back stock ones. I called another shop that does installs and they also said the stock ones will be fine.I know a lot of guys like colder plugs, but it doesn't seem to work for me.

Everything I have heard about forced induction is to get a colder plug and a smaller gap. The smaller gap to reduce the chance of spark blow out and the cooler plug to fight off detonation.
Isn't that correct?

Where are you seeing the detonation? Installed a Whipple into in a 5.3 Avalanche last weekend and he reported detonation at WOT just before the truck shut off (around 98MPH).

Tom, I was seeing the pinging at WOT,lets say your going about 50mph and punch it to 5-6lbs. then you would hear it. I put back the oe denso plugs and it dosen't ping anymore.I really think the smaller gap was the problem!
